Detox myth? Claims made from certain manufacturers are that their shampoos and face washes are 'detox'. The truth being, that these products just washed the hair or face like many products have done for years i.e. soap and water and were at the very least misleading. Instead of asking health practitioners to clarify what is meant by detox they went to the product manufactures themselves who (rightly so), could not answer. Read more here.

Recently U.K doctors have been asked by our health secretary Alan Johnson to reduce the amount of antibiotics prescribed to patients with coughs and colds. This is to help prevent the spread of the anti-biotic resistant superbugs such as MRSA. He says that the unnecessary prescriptions cost the British health system £1.7 billion per year.
Without doubt antibiotics have saved lives but they are over prescribed, they can be effective in destroying pathogenic bacteria but hold no mercy with their killing spree and end up wiping out our favourable bacteria needed for optimum health and digestive health. Read more here..... |

A common site in many UK cities on a Saturday night is drunken young men and women who for them a night out is not a night out unless it is fuelled with alcohol.
Experts have warned that urgent action is needed to prevent Britain heading for a dementia epidemic caused by the nation’s binge-drinking culture which is associated with binge drinking. If trends continue, within 10 years the UK population would be drinking more than anywhere else in Europe.
A recent paper published in the British Journal of Psychiatry links excessive alcohol drinking and loss of brain tissue. Experts also said that people are drinking almost double what they were in the 1960’s and that cheaper alcohol could also be a cause
