Flowing with life - how bra's can cut off the lymph flow and lead to health issues.

Our lymphatic system is so important to our health, as I wrote in a previous blog (see here), it’s not only a key part of our immune system, it’s also our waste system or sewer system that needs to function optimally to clear toxins from our cells. If this system is blocked/slowed down, we may experience a weakened immune system, more allergies, or you may have increased bloating, edema, brain fog, headaches, skin outbreaks, sluggishness, constipation, sinus problems, stiffness, aches and pains and more.

Where there is stagnation we become more susceptible to an overgrowth of yeasts and bacteria for example as we create a breeding ground for them to flourish if we do not move our wastes.

For optimal health we need a free flowing lymphatic system, it is our vital flowing river of life!

Women have a huge amount of lymphatic vessels and nodes in the breast area and under the armpits which is there to drain wastes from the surrounding tissues. That is the job of the lymph system. A tight fitting and/or underwired bra presses all around these key ares which can nip off this natural, vital flow. With the alarming rates of breast cancer today across the globe we want to ensure we are allowing the cells and tissues around the breast area (and the rest of the body), to be able to release its wastes to be eliminated naturally. We WANT TO ENSURE GOOD LYMPH DRAINAGE.

In day to day settings women should not be wearing underwired bras that push up and enhance their breasts, this impedes natural drainage. Bras that offer support without the underwires, fitted so it allows natural movement (and comfort) should be encouraged. In fact, having a bra-less time during the day /evening would be even better.

There may be a time for a bit of a ‘plunge’ type bra for example an evening out but these should be of minimal use.

Lymph goes where it can flow, it is a slower moving fluid than that of the blood as it has no natural pump. We need to encourage its movement for health and well-being and not causing it’s congestion by the unnatural wearing of bra’s.

Let your body flow!!
